Best Disc Golf Baskets 2026

If improving your disc golf game is something you long for (not everyone cares about getting better!), you’ve got to practice. Sometimes it is difficult to just practice when you could be playing, but spending time practicing pays big dividends.

Two of the most reliable ways to level up are simple: field work and putting reps. Field work only requires an open patch of ground and a handful of discs. Putting practice is even easier. Just give yourself a basket and a bit of space, and you’re in business. Discount Disc Golf carries baskets for just about every budget and purpose, and in this guide we’ll walk through the standout options in each category.

Take a look at what we offer and see which basket fits the way you play.

Choosing the Right Basket

Several disc golf baskets in a DG storeNot all baskets serve the same purpose (beyond catching discs), so it helps to think about how you’ll actually use your basket. If you’re hauling it around from place to place, a lightweight cloth-style basket is a lifesaver. Running leagues or hosting competitive rounds? A sturdier home or pro-level basket will treat you well. Working with a tight budget? Cloth and economy models are a great starting point. As a rule of thumb, invest in the best basket you can reasonably afford. Baskets are one piece of equipment that lasts for years, and a solid one pays you back every time you practice.

Pro tip: If you are in a position that you can buy two baskets, your practice sessions become dramatically more efficient and a lot more fun. And if a second basket isn’t in the cards right now, no worries. Just set a little cash aside over time and grab one later. You’ll thank yourself down the road.

Foldable Cloth Baskets

Cloth may not sound like a good option for a basket, but they are a lot more durable than you think. I’ve had one for about ten years and it is still holding up well. I don’t recommend leaving them out in the rain and snow. A cloth basket is a great choice if you will be transporting it very often. If you won’t be transporting your basket very often, I would skip the cloth and get a metal basket.

PROS: They fold up nicely and store in a bag that has a handle for easy of lugging it around. You can set it up or take it down quickly.

CONS: Cloth baskets aren’t the most grabby basket, so you will have a lot of spit-outs, run-throughs, and bounce outs. Not PDGA approved for competition.

Economy Baskets

If a more expensive basket is not in your budget, fear not. You still have some great options without breaking the bank. You won’t get the disc-stopping ability that you see in more expensive baskets. But, they perform good enough for a practice session. Most are light weight and easy to move around your yard. They are reasonably durable and should give you many, many years of use. They aren’t a bad option for discs that you will be transporting. Set-up and take-down aren’t a big deal.

PROS: Less expensive, light weight, acceptable performance, and easy to move around.

CONS: Lower performance than better baskets, lighter baskets can tip in the wind.

Narrow Baskets

There is a class of baskets that are more narrow than regular baskets, That means they are more difficult to hit and stay in the basket. The theory is that if you practice on a small basket, you’ll have more success on a bigger basket. You learn to focus more on the smaller target.

I’ve had a narrow basket, and I really liked it. However, I’ve always said that people should get one as a second basket. I liked putting on the narrow basket, but not always. It was nice to be able to switch to a bigger basket. You have to be ready for a lot of chain-outs with a narrow basket. Most of those putts would stick on a regular basket. But it is still a bummer when you have a lot of putts chain out.

PROS: Will improve your aim.

CONS: Since you will be missing more shots, it gets a bit frustrating at times.

High-End Baskets

If you want to dig a little deeper in your bank account, you can end up with a quality, high-performing basket. They are great for improving your putting skills. They do take a bit more work to move around, but you’ll be getting near course quality at a cheaper price than a pro basket. It could last for decades, if you take care of it. Many of them can be used in sanctioned tournaments. If you can afford a high-end basket, you won’t regret getting one?

PROS: The best performance and highest quality.

CONS: More expensive, more difficult to transport.

Course Quality

At the top of the basket mountain sits the premium, course quality baskets. These represent the best performing, longest lasting, most durable baskets you can buy. It feels good knowing that your putts have the best chance of going in the basket. Plus, you can use these baskets in PDGA sanctioned tournaments.

PROS: You’ll be putting on the best basket, durable, solid construction.

CONS: More expensive, heavier, difficult to transport.
